Fall Happenings Around Emblem 125
Fall is a spectacular time in Southern New England. Beside the beautiful beaches and fall foliage, there are plenty of events to partake in around Emblem 125. Here are traditional staples we absolutely love!
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
Since 2001, Roger Williams Park Zoo has hosted our state’s premier event. More than 5,000 pumpkins are illuminated and carved by local artisans. This year’s theme celebrates 75 years of television. Guests will revel in the nostalgia of their favorite television shows, from Howdy Doody, all the way up to Game of Thrones. The shows’ musical theme songs will accompany the experience.
Providence Ghost Tour
The year-round tour obviously gets spookier in the fall. Providence Ghost Tour gives you an introduction by lantern light to the area’s longest-lingering residents. Explore university campuses, the hills, and the streets for poltergeist sights. The highly knowledgeable local historians are gifted local storytellers!
Taste Vintage Apples
The tasting room at Sowams Cider Works offers heirloom apples for purchase only in the fall. These fruits are grown at a locally owned orchard in Touisset. Owner Spencer Morris gathers offerings not found anywhere else, cultivating dozens of rare and largely forgotten subtypes. The results are some of the best hard ciders you will ever taste. Reservations are encouraged.
Escobar’s Corn Maze
Over eight acres celebrates the theme of “Field of Dreams”. The different words of health, faith, love, success, and happy were designed by Brett Herbst.
Now in its 23rd season, the corn maze is open from August through early November. Fun extras include a Harry Potter Day, hay rides, and a Halloween costume party.
Apple Cider Donuts
The lines are long, but the goodies are worth it. The Hard-Pressed Cider Company is so popular that wait times are usually estimated at an hour.
True cider doughnut enthusiasts congregate for this seasonal offering. The sweet apple cider/warm cider doughnut establishment is open from Labor Day to Christmas.
